Round 7 - Tomahawk, NY Results

After several rainy, cold and muddy weekends that we have endured this year, Tomahawk Round 7 finally gave us sunny skies and beautiful weather.

Fifteen Tely Energy racers participated this past weekend bringing home 2 first place finishes and 6 top three finishes.

In the 8 am youth race, Peyton Whipkey battled for an hour and a half with the eventual winner to capture the number 2 spot. The lead was exchanged several times and it was a wheel to wheel battle to the very end. Canon Kuneff continued his successful race season with another second place finish in 85 (12-13). It was a great day for our 65 (10-11) races. Gavin Garlits, Ty Ely and Tucker Whipkey continued to be top competitors in the class. Gavin finished his day in 4th after grabbing the holeshot, Ty finished right behind him in 5th and Tucker finished his day in 7th place.

The 10am race was the most successful of the day. Cody Morehead continued his dominance in 200C (16+) with another victory. That makes 5 in a row for Cody and he just keeps getting better. Dylan Ely had another successful race taking the checkered flag again to keep him at the top of his class in the series championship. Cody and Dylan continue to distance themselves in the points race. Both boys push each other each and every race. They finished 101 and 102 respectively in the overall out of over 400 racers. Great job boys. Olivia Judy continues to get the feel of the bigger bike and finished her day in 7th place and is currently in 5th place in the class championship. In Sportsman B, Levi Koontz returned to action after recovering from some injuries at Wild Boar. He was running great for the first 3 laps until he ran into some trouble and finished the day in 21st.

Tely Energy had 5 racers on the starting line for the 1pm Pro race. It was a brutal hot day and the track was fast and wide open. Andrew Boggs had a great day in Junior A/B (25+). After leading for most of the race, he came away with a 2nd place finish and 73 overall out of 284 racers. James Harshberger continued to battle in Open B finishing his day in 3rd place. He is currently 4th in the class championship points race. Justin Murphy was having a great run until he had some mechanical issues and a sprocket change at the pits. He still ended his day in 11th and earned some points on the day. Zach Nolan started the day in 4th place and was flying until he had some issues that knocked him back to finish the day in 15th. Ryan Inmon finished the day in 17th place in Vet A (30+).

Great job to all of the Tely racers at Tomahawk! Our boys are ready for Snowshoe to see if they can conquer the mountain and roads again this year. See ya in two weeks!
