Results from GNCC Round 3 Steele Creeke

The third round of the 2016 AMSOIL Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) Series presented by Maxxis, an AMA National Championship, took place today, April 3 at the beautiful Steele Creek Campground in Morganton, North Carolina with the 17th Annual FMF Steele Creek GNCC. With a mix of sun and mild temperatures the groundwork was laid for one of the best races thus far in the season.

Steele Creeke, NC proved to be the first cold race of the year, but Tely Energy Racing still had another great weekend with successful results.

In the 8am youth bike race, Ty Ely came away with his first win of the season in only his fifth GNCC race ever! He dominated the field in 65 (7-9). Olivia Judy also continued her excellent run with another win to further her undefeated season. Canon Kuneff finished his day at 5th and Gavin Garlits finished 11th in 65 (10-11). Chase Inmon ended up with 11th in 85 (7-11) and Chase Rutan ended up with 19th in 85 (12-13).

In the 10am youth bike race, Eric Ross came on to the GNCC scene for the first time in 2016 and finished in 5th place in 4 stroke c lites. Emily Streets continued to get a great run and a top ten finish with 8th place. Dylan Ely got 12th in 200C Schoolboy (12-15).

In the 1pm bike race, Zach Nolan came to race and got 2nd in the 250A class with a great ride. Ryan Inmon got a podium appearance with his 3rd place finish in Vet A (30+). Scott Dowlin finished with 5th place in Vet B (30+) and with a 3rd place racing his quad the day before. Andrew Boggs finished with 12th in 250A and Kaleb Williams came back from injury with a 16th place finish in 4 stroke a lites.
