2019 - Round 5 Race Report - X-Factor

The X-Factor GNCC was a muddy mess yet again. The sloppy mess was tough on the riders and the bikes. A lot of rebuilding will need to be done before the next race at John Penton. Tely Energy Race team fielded 12 riders for the weekend and ended up with 3 podium finishers and 7 racers in the top 5.

Steward Baylor, Jr. just missed the podium with another 4th place finish. He started the day in 6th place on the first lap and made his way to 4th where he would stay for the remainder of the day.

Grant Baylor returned to GNCC racing and finished the day in respectable 6th place after so much time off. He was next to last after the first lap and worked his way up to 6th.

Liam Draper had a great start on the day and was in podium position for the first two laps but then the mud got the best of his bike and he ended up with a 13th place finish.

In the 10am race, Brooke Cosner, our WXC rider, was having her best results of the season and ran the first two laps in 3rd place when she ran into mechanical issues which finished her day in 8th place.

Dylan Ely had his best results of the year with a 7th place finish in Sportsman A. He will continue to battle to improve his spot every race.

Bill Gold, a support member of Tely Energy Racing, tried to race even though he had 3 broken ribs from the previous race but was unable to hold up for the entire race so he had to finish with a 9th place finish in Masters A (50+).

In the youth race, JoJo Cunningham made it 5 for 5 with his 5th first place finish and 5th overall finish in a row. He dominated the class by over 3 minutes and easily took the overall! He is looking to continue his dominance as we head toward the break.

Garyson Smith had another great race until he had bike issues on the final lap. He sat in 2nd place for the majority of the race until his bike blew up at the very end due to the mud. He is sure to return to the podium in the next race.

Ty Ely had his best finish of the season in 85 (12-13) with a 5th place finish. He looks to continue to improve with the next race right around the corner.

Andrew Segars continues to dominate the 85 (7-11) class with another first place finish and a 13th overall. After a rough start in Florida to start the season, he now has a stronghold on the class championship with another dominate performance from start to finish.

Paul Best returns after missing time due to injury and finished his day in 9th place. He will continue to improve after a few races off once he gets his conditioning back up to where it was at the beginning of the year.

Keifer Galiano continues to make the GNCC podium his home. He made it 4 in a row with another third place finish in the 65 (10-11) class.

Ronnie Rusch had his best finish of the year! He led for the first lap and then was in a podium spot until the last lap. He ended up with a 4th place finish on the day. He is continuing to adjust to the pro class and will continue to improve in the coming races.
